A week’s worth of lunch salads for less than $25
Made possible by Trader Joe’s (+ the latest "Baguette Gazette" 🗞️)
Dream Scenario: I haven’t seen a ton of Nicolas Cage movies (maybe even none?), but from my understanding, this is quite a departure. Here he plays a very average suburban dad whose life takes a turn when seemingly everyone in his community starts seeing him in their dreams. This movie explores the “influencing” industry, cancel culture, and marriage/family life. It’s funny, unexpected, touching, and at times very cringy.
Microsoft To-Do (previously Wunderlist): I’ve actually been using this app for years but with end-of-year to-do’s piling up (for you too?), I thought now would be a great time to tell you about it. It’s a very basic list app that lets you sort tasks by due date. I use it as a dumping ground for my personal and business lives. It’s also a great way to set reminders for the future - whether it’s following up with a client in a month or scheduling that teeth cleaning six months from now. You can also use it for grocery lists, prep lists, etc.
Töst: I recently tried this non-alcoholic champagne at a conference and was pleasantly surprised. It has the fizzy mouthfeel you’d expect and isn’t overly sweet. Made with a base of white tea and ginger. (The rosé is my fave.)
A lunch salad at a fancy salad place like Sweetgreen costs in the vicinity of $17. Call me crazy, but that is an insane amount to spend on a meal you’ll likely eat mindlessly while staring at a screen. Furthermore, these salads are often - let’s face it - pretty mediocre.
As an antidote to this highway robbery, I invite you to partake in my favorite homemade lunch salad, which clocks in at under $5, made entirely from ingredients found at my beloved Trader Joe’s. You can make it while working from home, or tote it to the office with you.
