Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start of summer (woo!) and with it, al fresco dining season. Whether you’re heading to a picnic, having people over, or just eating dinner on your balcony, the sunny recipes below will fit the bill.

1. Sweet Potato Black Bean Burgers
The foundation of these burgers consists of roasted sweet potato and canned black beans. Walnuts punctuate the texture, while a handful of aromatics (onion, cilantro, cumin, chili powder) gives these a Tex-Mex flavor profile.
2. Dill Potato Salad with Capers
It may be an unpopular opinion, but I believe the best potato salads are mayo-free. This warm potato salad has a garlicky olive oil dressing, plus a ton of dill and capers that make every bite burst with grassy freshness.
